Hello all -
I would like to know what everyone's opinion is on the "when" and "how" pertaining to the cleaning and preservation of early copper (or any other coins, for that matter).
I have some recent purchases and some older acquisitions that range anywhere from having verdigris and gunk from being buried, been in a fire and had Mylar melted on them, or still just having dirt in the details from having been dug. None of these, needless to say, are high grade examples, so there isn't a huge downside to working on them a bit. I just feel that some of them have some decent detail and that the eye appeal of the details that still remain would be punched up a bit by some decent conservation steps.
I anxiously await any and all input - Thanks!
