An R7 54n30 just sold on this site... anyone able to sell a R7 48n46?
I've got all the late date business strike varieties except 48n46 (and the two uniques), and would love to obtain this elusive 1848 variety.
Is that the pillowed die variety, sorry I am looking for it as well
Hi beef1020. Not taking into account proofs... there are 2 late date large cent varieties in the R8 category, and 4 late date large cent varieties in the R7 category. Both categories have a pillowed die variety.
The 2 R8's are mules, meaning that both their obverse and reverse dies appear in another variety. The R8 47n43 has an obv die also used in 47n30 and a rev die also used in 47n7. The R8 51n42 has an obv die also used in 51n1 and a rev die also used in 51n44 (i.e. "PILLOWED DIE" reverse).
The 4 R7's are 48n46 (a mule), 49n25, 51n44 ("PILLOWED DIE" obverse & "PILLOWED DIE" reverse), and 54n30 (a mule). Best to you, Mike.
