Hugh's R8 quiz 195
R8 q195 obv.jpgR8 q195 rev.jpgHere's Hugh's R8 quiz 195: Is this a small date, medium date, large date, or tall date? Is this the same size letters in the reverse legend as the 51 over 81? What variety is this? The RFL cud census from the March 2012 Common Cents Report lists 39, 26, or 8 of this variety with an obverse cud? This coin is very choice, very smooth, genuine, and in an early die state, interestingly different to the naked eye, not machined, of normal thickness with an unevenly blunt appearance on each side on a variety not known for blunt strikes. What do I conclude this coin was used for after circulating?
