1820 N1 clashed dies?
I recently purchased an 1820 N1 off of eBay with what I would consider pretty strong obverse and reverse die clashing. The obverse clashing shows a good deal of the inner wreath's leaves and berries around the bust. The reverse clashing is strong enough to show quite a bit of the facial outline, the recessed areas of hair and the inner and outer ear outline. Even the recessed area around the word LIBERTY is clashed strong enough that the R and half of the T show between the N of CENT and the line below it.
I’ve searched the Penny Wise archives and did not find much on middle date die clashes. With the N1 being so common, is the die clash something that comes up often?
I was really hoping I'd get some input on this, maybe an image will help....
