2013 EAC Convention Large Cent Happening Variety Requests
This note is published in the October Issue of Penny-Wise that EAC members should be receiving soon - if not already.
I am getting the request out for suggestions for the 2013 EAC Convention Large cent Happening. Since Penny-Wise is now published quarterly, I would like to get suggestions in from the membership in time to publish the selected varieties in the January 2012 issue of Penny-Wise.
I want to thank everyone who took the time to submit suggestions last year Ė and also those members that volunteered their time to pull the event off so smoothly.
So once again, I ask for your suggestions to fill two early date slots, two middle date slots, and two late date slots. Letís see some interesting varieties and die states.
Additionally, I am asking for volunteers to assist as monitors and at sign-in. If you havenít yet participated as a volunteer, please consider doing so Ė itís one of those things in life you wonít have any regrets over.
A few worthy notations - I would prefer to take suggestions from folks who plan to attend the convention - not trying to be selective, but many who attend the convention have personal favorites and enjoy bringing their coins for show. I'd like to provide that opportunity. Also, I try to select varieties that are of greater interest - maybe varied die states (as noted above), varieties that have not been selected before or have not been seen in several years at the Happening.
Fire away with your suggestions and offers to volunteer! Please contact me via e-mail before November 30th, so that I may have a bit of time to sort through the submissions and get a list to Harry in time for the January issue of P-W.
I will also be posting this notice in Region 8 and in the Copper Notes Forum
Thank you. David Johnson
