Wow! I was bidding 30-40% over greysheet and still got left in the dust on every lot I bid on. Even some very common late dates in F-VF went for over $200. Glad I didn't make the 3000 mile trip to attend that auction.

Quick question on the prices realized. There were a couple coins which seemed to open for a high price and be sold to the podium with no one else bidding, but they were not listed as passes. For instance I was interested in lot 108, the S-84 in F12+ and was surprised that it opened at $2,600 and then had no other bids on the floor. My question is, did this have two people bidding it up that high, or was their a reserve price or otherwise bought back by the consignor?

I actually though some of the late dates went pretty cheap, there were a couple nice ~35 coins going for around $50, like lot 501.

Most likely these were instances where the maximum mail bid received had beaten the reserve (if any) and so that was where the floor bid began, thus the coin didn't merit a pass.

A pass means the coin was reserved, and it didn't meet the reserve. Sales to the "book" that are not listed as a "pass" went to mail bidders.

Another possibility is that the S84 was reserved at 2600 and that number was disclosed to a bidder who bid exactly that number. Your ability to get information like this depends on your relationship with the auctioneer.
