2012 EAC Convention Sale
Can someone briefly explain how the sale works. Do members submit coins, have them auctioned off,
and collect the money from the highest bid? Does the club take a percentage for the treasury? I know there have
been several calls for submission over the past few months, just wondering if there's a place where I can see
all the particulars. thanks.....scott
I will do my best to explain it. If I miss some thing some thing, I hope some one will ad what is miss.
Yes, members submit coin for convention sale. Witch right now the auction sale catalog has probably gone to print, so no more coin can be submitted at this time. There has been a 10% buyers fee add to all invoices. The 10% goes to the club. You have to be a member in order to bid in this sale. Bid come from the floor and from absentee bid sheets. You should get your EAC Convention Sales Catalog in the mail with your Penny-Wise, in a few weeks. At least I hope so. I hope this helps. Are you come to it this years convention in Buffalo. I will be there.
Have a great weekend.
That's just what I wondered about. I knew it was too late to submit (thank goodness I don't want to get rid of anything yet). Can't wait to see the catalogue. Last years was a regular work of art. I use it for reference as much as my other books.
Yes, I can't hardly wait for the catalog also. From what I've heard there's over 500 lot and we should have it before the end of the month. Scott, you did not say if you going to Buffalo or not.
Will the auction catalog be put on line?
The auction catalog will be posted online as a pdf file according to Chris McCawley. No ETA as yet but see this week's upcoming Region 8 Newsletter for an update!
I missed Portland due to sudden work constraints, but I'll be in Buffalo, work or no work. I live in central Indiana and have friends in Columbus, OH, so next year I can skip right over there.
Can't wait to meet all the members I don't see at different shows throughout the year. And oh yeah, I'm bringing' my wallet for the auction!! scott
I will post the auction catalog on eacs.org as soon as I receive the PDF. Watch for it!
See you in Buffalo. It's only 200 miles for me, so that easy. Columbus is twice at far, but still plan to go.
Tom, I will look for auction catalog post. It will give me a early start if you get it up before it comes in the mail.
