Thanks to all.
I know well of Chris and Bob, and wouldn't for a second doubt their veracity....I only wondered if
they took the word of the consignor out of hand, and put the responsibility of...
When coins are listed in the auction catalogue, has the listed attribution
been "certified" by McCawley and Grellman or must one view the
coins prior to the auction and double check the attribution...
I bid on one on e-bay, but it was suddenly up to ~$125. My wife doesn't cook that well. Beautiful old wooden handle too.
My very first large cents were from my Granddaddy...maybe five of them. All holed. Found out years later that my uncle who sorted through all of them kept all the best and tossed the culls to
my...
Hi Rich,
Where in Central CA are you? I spent a great deal of time out there from 1980-1982...really loved it.
Now I'm stuck back in cold and snowy IN. I'm a pretty hard-core large cent collector,...

Cappy....I'm down with that....I'd much rather buy from an EAC member than on the open
market....much more trustworthy here. Quite a few members offer their FPLs in the "Buy,Sell,Trade" section.

I've always wondered to what that referred. I spent 10 years very early on in the archaeological world in VA, but never in my studies actually heard that term. To me, one of the really interesting...
Got mine in Indiana on 31st or 1st
Looks like the date is really skewed, but that might be one particular die....I'm definitely not a
late date guy. Several of the others don't seem to have that down-sloping date. Any help
from...
I don't know anything about late dates, but it looks like the date is really askew compared
to the others I've seen, but then again, it could be because it's a specific die. Any help out there?
I think that there's always someone out there who will buy something that
they think is rare or unusual, hoping to turn it at a later date for a big profit.
Hopes this works.....scott

So.... several years ago, I bought my first large cent. It is at best, basal state 1. The only reason I bought it
was for its lettered edge, which was very clear. I never had a hope of attributing...

here's the long answer about your s/f question....(I'm an old Latin student!)
This should interest just about everyone on this site.
Hope it works!!

OK! I'll check my wallet!
I think that's generally correct, but later investigations have shown
that his emission sequence wasn't always correct. So, some later Sheldon
numbers we're actually minted earlier than their...
Looks like one of Shawn's.....how much is he askin'?

OH man, the date and devices have really fine detail. Too bad it's in the condition it is.
Still pretty nice!! I could never find a '94 in my local shops.

Well, that makes sense. As I said, I have several edges with leaves, but they're single ones. Walter Breen
in his description uses the word "cluster" which threw me off as I've never seen but one,...
