I didn't get a chance to bid as I got my catalog two days before the auction and was at work until after the auction. Oh well, maybe next year.

I hope to attend an EAC Happening one day, provided there's one somewhat close to home. But I do enjoy seeing the list of Happening varieties and it gives me a list of coins to challenge my hunting...
I'm surprised he didn't make an interesting story up to go along with it, like that the hole is a bullet hole made during a gunfight in an old west shootout. Thats worth a few dollars to some...
I wouldn't know as I crack out any graded copper I buy so I can examine the entire coin unimpeded. As good as some of the graders may be at simple numeric assignments to coins, their knowledge in the...
Were you also taking into account the thousands they receive in advertising fees per PW issue in your figures? Seems there a lot of funding not represented by your numbers. Aside from that, I'd pay...
Welcome Jim. I think it took about three months before I could log onto the EAC homepage after I joined. All the PW back issues should have been on a disc they sent you with the membership package,...
Got mine 10/29 in CA
Beats me. Could just be a simple double punched date, which aren't always considered varieties since most dates have them in one form or another.

I could see it. Looks like a lot of the surface has corroded away is all.
Good question. I did find another s-220 on Ebay that has similar details, right down to a missing/worn 1. ...
Didn't even know there was a sale. Who was it through? I usually only check Heritage, but haven't even been on there for a while due to being out of town a lot.
Guy
Yes, they copy your images and list them for sale. Its a scam, nothing more. Report it to Ebay. This happens all the time.
They aren't selling your coins. They're stealing pictures of real auctions and creating fake sales.
Just a hair over my budget, I'm afraid.
Looks like it went unsold to me.
Welcome, Brian. Now that you've almost gotten your date set of late dates completed, it's time to start collecting the different varieties. That'll keep you pulling your hair out for a good hundred...
True. My problem was that I was only in town for a few days for other business and didn't have the flexibility I would have liked to had. There just aren't any large shows like that close enough to...
Well, back from PA. I was only able to attend the Philly show one day, the 10th, which was next to the last day and made for slim pickings. I was displeased with how little in the way of old copper...
lol I love how high the date is raised. Not even the usual fake buyers are biting on that one. I'll report that listing.

Wow, an obvious casting (bubbles on obverse) and silver colored under scratches. What are these bidders thinking?

I'm going to be in Philadelphia on other business during the ANA show and have plans to stop in for a bit. I was just curious to know if there are any large cent dealers that will have booths there...
Here's a poorly thought out fake 1821 that seemed to fool a lot of people, and one bidder out of a lot of money. The reverse and obverse are from two separate coins, and dates. Took me all of two...
To me it looks struck through, and the object is still in in.
Guy
Welcome! Half cents are a fun and challenging pursuit. Best of luck.
