Thanks for your note on my Avatar. The letters came from CWT's, took a bit of fussin to put together put on most forums it looks pretty good.
  2. Hi ... I've been collecting coins for over fifty years now. In the past, I've managed many coin club shows and auctions, forming numerous friendships along the way. The realm of nineteenth century U.S. tokens has long been a major area of fascination for me; especially so, the Civil War era tokens. In retirement, I much enjoy researching and attributing counterstamped coins. I now too enjoy writing about coins and tokens, sharing observations and thoughts with fellow enthusiasts.

The appealing look of old coppers has long been a draw for me, be they colonials, Condors, tokens or cents. Personally, I enjoy the beauty and history attached to these old coppers more than the variety. Although I'm not much into attributing the varieties, I've discovered and pegged a few important NC-2's, dated 1797 and 1796. Yet, my avatar, counterstamped by an early gunsmith, Joshua Yous, holds more personal appeal to me than do those "less rare" NC varieties.
