I just got this coin for my collection. I am waiting for Mr. Manley's book which would tell me which 94 I have, but it was just ordered and is on it's way.. Any help would be appreciated too.

I'll take a stab. Looks like a Normal Head 1 79 4 obverse with a Cent Type, Close Legend reverse. I'll assume its the more common small edge letters CMM3 / Breen 3-E. Low R-6.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my call. I think you are right. Any thoughts on a grade?

I added two pictures of the edge lettering. Large or small? I am not sure and looking on line to see if I can tell.

I'd grade the front AG; the back is marginally better but has a few pits from old corrosion. I'd say it's overall an average or slightly nicer than average AG. Rare variety and very collectable, but it's not R6 any more.

Until your Manley book comes, Gregory Heim's website has some excellent pictures of most varieties of half cents I use for comparison. The site comes in very handy when the book is not right at your fingertips. Pay special attention to positions of numbers/ leaves / berries

The Manley book arrived today and it is outstanding. I am thankful to own it.

Steve, I too have finally purchased Ron Manley's book on Half Cents and it is a great reference tool for attributing Half Cents.....
